Nathan Metivier

Nathan received his Juris Doctor (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in the Spring of 2023, and shortly thereafter joined Pfefferle Law as an articling student. Before he began his articles with the firm, Nathan worked at Pfefferle Law as a summer student in both 2021 and 2022.

Nathan is passionate about criminal defence work, and won several academic awards during his time in law school in various subject areas relating to criminal law, including the Judge D. Murray Brown Memorial Prize in Appellate Advocacy, the Merlis Belsher Award for Collaboration in Psychiatry and Law, the Gabe Burkart Memorial Award (for high academic achievement in two or more courses in the area of criminal law and an interest in the practice of law), the Amy and Brian Pfefferle Prize (for the highest blended average in criminal procedure and evidence), and the Honourable David H. Wright Prize in Sentencing. In his final year, Nathan competed in the Gale Cup Moot Competition. He was also on the Board of Editors of the Saskatchewan Law Review during the 2021/2022 academic year.

Prior to Law School, Nathan studied English Literature at the University of Saskatchewan. Nathan has a particular interest in criminal appeals and cases involving the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms .
