Nathan Metivier

Since being called to the bar, Nathan has practiced exclusively in the area of criminal defence. He began working at Pfefferle Law as a summer student and continued to work at the firm through his articling year.

Nathan received his Juris Doctor (with Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan. During law school, he developed a strong passion for criminal defence, earning several academic awards in areas relating to criminal law, including: the Judge D. Murray Brown Memorial Prize in Appellate Advocacy, the Merlis Belsher Award for Collaboration in Psychiatry and Law, the Gabe Burkart Memorial Award (for high academic achievement in two or more courses in the area of criminal law and an interest in the practice of law), the Amy and Brian Pfefferle Prize (for the highest blended average in criminal procedure and evidence) and The Honourable David H. Wright Prize in Sentencing. Nathan also competed in the Gale Cup Moot Competition and served on the Board of Editors of the Saskatchewan Law Review during his time as a student.

Nathan has appeared at every level of Court in Canada and has a particular interest in criminal appeals and cases involving the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Nathan has experience conducting both jury trials and judge-alone trials. Based in Regina, Nathan accepts files from across Saskatchewan.
